What's it all about?
Melbourne Gang Show is an annual youth musical presented by the Scouts and Guides of Melbourne.
For over seventy years, we've been providing young people with opportunities to develop confidence, resilience and teamwork through the performing arts... and having plenty of fun along the way!
This year the sensational Melbourne Gang Show Cast and Crew present an original two-act Musical ‘Once upon a Crime’. In a 1920s Hollywood filled with fairy-tale characters, a murder disrupts the filming of "Jack and the Beanstalk." With twists and revelations, Red solves the murder, leading to a successful film premiere for director Jack and his team. The show features lively production numbers with a talented cast, hilarious comedy, impressive dancing, and sheer fun.
Why not book our special ‘Before the curtain’ pre show event. A ‘Before the Show’ experience! As part of the Melbourne Gang Show’s commitment to training, we are offering a 20 minute behind the scenes sneak preview before selected shows demonstrating how the magic of theatre works!!
Youth members (although adults are also welcome) will get to see how tricks of the theatre are carefully joined together to create the ‘suspension of disbelief’ that takes you on the theatrical journey.
This short preview will also fulfil part of both Entertainer and Performing Arts badge requirements (Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Guides) and also provide a fantastic perspective and insight as the performance is watched.
This fabulous opportunity is being offered before the matinee performances on Saturday 22nd, Sunday 23rd June and Saturday 29th June from 1.15pm until 1.35pm. Groups to meet in the foyer.
